Commissioned by the Urban League of the Upstate, Furman University’s Sterling Neighborhood Study examines demographic change, housing market pressures, and community assets that can help preserve one of Greenville’s most historically significant neighborhoods.

The research equips residents and community partners with data to inform decisions about housing stability, neighborhood preservation, and long-term opportunity.

The Post and Courier covered the study in 2025, exploring how community-owned assets can help preserve Sterling’s history and neighborhood stability.
