May is National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month. All month long we will be educating teens and families on the impact of teen pregnancy, as well as celebrating the progress we have made. Since peaking in 1991, the U.S. teen birth rate has declined 64% and rates are down in all 50 states and among all racial/ethnic groups.

One of our initiatives for the month is hygiene. Starting today, April 8 through May 7, we will be collecting trial size toiletries for teens to teach them self care and personal hygiene at our Healthy Essentials for Teens workshop.

The workshop will take place on Tuesday, May 7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Good personal hygiene is an important part of being healthy. As teens begin to experience puberty and the changes that come with it, their hygiene needs to change as well. Being a teenager is hard enough, so having good hygiene habits is a good confidence booster. When you look good, you feel good!
