Dear Upstate Community,

We are excited to invite you to the initial Sankofa Scholars Parent Interest Meeting, where we will introduce a new and transformative program designed to empower and uplift scholars in our community.  

Grounded in the principle of Sankofa— “to go back and fetch it” —this initiative embraces the wisdom of our past to prepare our children for a stronger future.  The program will focus on academic excellence, cultural identity, leadership identity, and community engagement.

During this session, you will:

1.  Learn more about the vision, mission, and curriculum pillars of the Sankofa Scholars program.

2.  Hear about the role of our partners—Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and the Urban League of the Upstate.

3.  Discover how you and your child can get involved.  

4.  Share your questions, hopes, and ideas for shaping this important initiative.
